The Horse head and Flame Nebula by Mark Sibole. Mosaic taken with the new Meade Deep Sky Imager Pro II. Imaging scope: 80mm Refractor piggyback on 12LX200 and autoguided with the DSI PRO. The flame nebula is 60 minutes ha for luminance and 12 minutes per color channel, auto dark subtract with Envisage. "My first impressions of the new Deep Sky Imager II were basically Wow!!

I was really amazed at the sensitivity as well as the image size with the 1/2 inch CCD chip.

I also was impressed with the ability to take 4 to 8 minute sub frames and was able to keep the stars from bloating out on me. What also impressed me was some of the new features like the auto dark frame subtraction, not only using the exposure time but with the new temperature sensor for matching the perfect dark frame to your image. The ability to have a zoom feature for focusing really made it nice as well.

Of all of the images I have taken with the DSI PRO II I haven't had one single bad image through it yet. What I like the most about the new Deep Sky Imager II is its light weight and ease of use. I also noticed the very low noise of the CCD chip

I owned a more expensive cooled imager in the past and didn't get images like I got from the Deep Sky Imager II. Since the introduction of the DSI II I've since sold my cooled imager as I didn't use it any more.
