Rosella Nebula by Matt Taylor
The Rosette Nebula by Matt Taylor imaged with the new Meade Deep Sky Imager Pro II. Imaging scope: 80mm Refractor on the Meade LXD650 equatorial mount. Autoguided by SBIG ST-2000. 15 panel mosaic, 1 hour per panel (6 frames x 10 min. each).

Matt Taylor and the Deep Sky Imager II™
Matt Taylor writes of his Deep Sky Imager Pro II

"With the introduction of the DSI Pro II Meade continues to be the industry leader for low cost, low noise, easy, powerful, and fun to use CCD cameras. I never thought that such a camera could change my total mindset concerning CCD cameras and the need for cooling, but it has. It's low noise, ease of use, and fun factor have combined to demote my high dollar cooled CCD camera to autoguiding duties and I find that my primary imager has become the DSI Pro II. Almost all of the images I've made with the DSI Pro II have been stacks of 10 minute exposures and the results are nothing short of amazing to me. The exposures are smooth, with a very high signal to noise ratio even with short stacks of individual exposures. My imaging location is in Los Angeles county, under heavy light pollution, but the very high sensitivity of the DSI Pro II's CCD chip has allowed me to make very high quality H-Alpha and LRGB images.  If I had it to do over again there is little doubt in my mind that I would have saved thousands of dollars and would have been just as happy by buying the DSI Pro II rather than the expensive cooled camera that is now my autoguider."
